01The choice of safety rope length
Falling distance: the maximum distance from the starting point or working surface of the fall to the lowest head or foot of the seat belt wearer;
Stretching length: the maximum distance from the suspension point to the lowest point (head/foot) of the seat belt wearer during a fall;
Safe space: located below the working surface, there is no three-dimensional space that may cause collision and injury to the faller;
There is a requirement in the choice of our seat belts, that is, the height of the safety space must not be less than the extension length, and a certain safety gap must be left to avoid collisions.
Assuming that the height of the hanging point is 7 meters from the ground, the height of the worker is 1.8 meters, and we need to leave a safety gap of 1 meter below, then the length of our safety rope must not be longer than 4.2 meters, then we need to check relevant information to confirm the length of the safety belt +The length of the fully opened buffer bag should be less than 4.2m. Of course, general safety belts can meet the requirements.
Assuming that the height of the hanging point is 4 meters from the ground, the height of the worker is 1.8 meters, and we need to leave a safety clearance of 1 meter below, then the length of our safety rope must not be longer than 2.2 meters, the general safety rope + buffer bag fully opened length If it is not satisfied, we need to choose a speed difference automatic controller (speed difference device) more suitable.
02Why hang on high and use low?
Ascending homework, we often say that we should use high and low use. What is the reason?
(1) With reference to the above clauses, it can be known that high-hanging and low-hanging can effectively increase the height of the hanging point from the ground, and prevent personnel from falling to the ground due to insufficient height of the hanging point;
(2) Reduce the braking distance of a fall, and reduce the impact of a fall;
03 pendulum effect
If the safety rope is not fixed vertically above the workplace, the fall will cause the worker to sway in the air, and may hit other objects or hit the ground to cause injury, commonly known as the pendulum effect.
To avoid the pendulum effect, the angle between the fixed point and the user and the vertical line between the fixed point and the ground cannot exceed 30 degrees.
04Can the belt be used as a hanging point?
The impact force is relatively large during the fall. If only the waist belt is used to work the hanging point, it is very easy to have a large impact on the waist and cause damage. Therefore, the waist belt cannot be used as a separate hanging point.
